Meet Ryan Gray
New Orleans wedding photographer
I’m Ryan, a New Orleans wedding photographer creating images that feel editorial, emotional, and deeply personal.
My work is rooted in observation – the way light moves through a room, the way people hold each other, and the quiet gestures that happen between the obvious moments. I’m drawn to photographs that feel elegant but alive, composed but never stiff, and honest without losing a sense of beauty.
Before every wedding, I take time to understand the people, places, and priorities that matter most to you. That preparation gives me the freedom to guide when needed, anticipate what matters, and stay present for the unscripted moments that make the day feel like yours.
My background as a musician and visual artist continues to shape the way I photograph weddings. I care about rhythm, atmosphere, timing, texture, and emotion – not just how a photograph looks, but how it feels years later.
Whether I’m photographing portraits, family, ceremony, reception, or Super 8 film, my goal is always to create work that feels intentional, artful, and lasting.

The Way I See
A little more about the rhythm, presence, and preparation behind the work.
Rhythm, Feeling, Timing
Before photography, music shaped the way I understood emotion, pacing, and atmosphere. That background still influences how I photograph weddings – the quiet build of a morning, the movement of a room, the energy of a dance floor, and the small emotional shifts that happen between the expected moments.
I’m always looking for images that feel composed but alive, with a sense of rhythm that carries the story forward.

A Sense of Hospitality
My years in hospitality taught me how much presence matters. Weddings move quickly, and the experience is shaped not only by the photographs, but by how calm, cared for, and understood you feel throughout the day.
I bring that same sense of awareness to my work – reading the room, working well with planners and vendors, and helping create space for genuine moments without making the day feel overly directed.
Prepared, Present, Attuned
A wedding day deserves both careful preparation and the freedom to unfold naturally. Before each celebration, I take time to understand the people, places, family dynamics, visual priorities, and timing that matter most.
That preparation allows me to guide when needed, anticipate important moments, and stay fully present for the real, unscripted interactions that make the day feel like yours.

WHY COUPLES TRUST RYAN
“Book him now. From our first consultation call to the big day, Ryan was so thoughtful and intentional about understanding us as a couple and how we wanted our wedding day captured… Our wedding photos look like they are out of a magazine. Ryan is a true artist who takes his craft seriously, and if you get the chance to work with him, you will not regret it.”
